Yes, the Gesvatec system is very simple to use as it has been demonstrated by the hundreds of users from several countries who are using the system year after year. Part of the success of our Gesvatec system is based in its ease of use since it was implemented for the first time in 2004.
Yes. The Gesvatec web site, the Gesvatec labeling software and the Gesvatec App can manage the legality of several protected products in real-time at the same time.

Users

The Gesvatec system can be used by breeders, IPR Companies or licensees of protected plant varieties and the regulatory boards for protected designations of origin (P.D.O.) and protected geographical indications (P.G.I.) who wish to manage the legality of their protected products and have a better control over the production of legal origin of the product, in order to detect the illegal productions, and identify any possible irregularities that may arise in the process of commercialization.

At the same time, the Gesvatec system can be used by all those packhouses who label the protected products that are managed with the Gesvatec system for their breeders or control entities.
They may use the Gesvatec web site (www.gesvatec.com) to check the number of kilos and printed labels by each packhouse who label their products. With the Gesvatec App they can manage all the information registered on the system with the convenience of being able to do it from anywhere, allowing them to have always the information registered in the system in real-time.
They may use the Gesvatec labeling software, to carry out the printing of labels regularized and to certify the legal origin of the protected product, and the Gesvatec web site (www.gesvatec.com), to check the number of kilos and printed labels in real-time by the Gesvatec labeling software. Finally, they can also use the Gesvatec App to manage information registered in the system with the convenience of being able to do it from anywhere, allowing them to have always the information registered in the system in real-time.
The Gesvatec App can be used by:
  • Breeders of protected varieties
  • Licensees of protected varieties
  • Regulatory boards for protected designations of origin (P.D.O.)

Hardware / Software Requirements (only for packhouses)

You will need the following:

    • 1 PC (Pentium IV or upper, RAM: 512MB or upper. HD: 1GB free or upper).
    • Industrial labeling printer
    • Internet connection on the enabled PC.

From version 4, the Gesvatec labeling software is compatible with more than 2,500 models of industrial printers on the market.
Of course not. The Gesvatec labeling software can be installed on any PC you have at the packhouse, provided it meets the hardware requirements specified above.
You will need to have an Android mobile device (smartphone or tablet). The Android version should be 3.2 or higher.

Licensing and Setup

The Gesvatec labeling software’s license is per each PC where the software is installed. You must acquire as many licenses as PCs you want to have with the Gesvatec labeling software. The Gesvatec App’s license is per each device. You must acquire as many licenses as devices (smartphones / tables) where you want to install the Gesvatec App.
Prior to the setup and activation of the Gesvatec labeling software on your PC, please, read the "Manual: Setup and activation (Labeling)", available in the download area of the Gesvatec website (www.gesvatec.com) to perform the installation and activation of the software successfully. For this, you have to access to the private part of this web site with your user and password and click on the “Intraweb” option from the main menu.

Install and activate the Gesvatec labeling software in advance the beginning of the season. Thus, the Gesvatec Support Team (GST) can solve any problem related to the setup and/or activation of the software and the software will be ready for the beginning of the season.
Yes, of course. Having into account that a license only works on a PC or a device, the license must be firstly deactivated from the current PC / device and then proceed to activate it on the new PC / device. Each license includes the possibility of a maximum of seven movements. If the maximum amount of movements has been exceeded you should contact the Gesvatec Support Team (GST).

Firstly, you have to access to the private part of this web site with your user and password and click on the “Intraweb” option from the main menu.

If you intend to format or change the current PC, which has the Gesvatec labeling software’s license, we recommend deactivating previously and activating it again later.
If you have formatted or changed the PC and you haven’t previously deactivated the license you will not be able to move it into another PC. Exceptionally, in this case, to deactivate the license you must access to the "Licensing" option from the private area of this web site and click on the "Deactivate license" on the PKC you want to deactivate.
Yes. It can be installed on as many PCs as you wish considering that the software will only be operational in the PC where the license is activated. The license can only be activated on a single PC. If you want to move the license to another PC, where the software is preinstalled, firstly you must deactivate the current PC to activate it later on the target PC.
Yes. The Gesvatec Support Team (GST) will send to the responsible of the packhouse an email with all the information necessary for the download, installation and activation of the software. They will also provide the Gesvatec user’s manuals that will explain how to install, activate and use the software.
Before using the Gesvatec labeling software, please, read the "Manual: Labeling" and "Manual: Web site" to know how to use the Gesvatec system. Both manuals are available in the download area of the Gesvatec Web Site (www.gesvatec.com).

Problems with the PC, the printer or the software (only for packhouses)

You should get in touch with the people from the Gesvatec Support Team (GST). We will be delighted to help you whenever you need us. Accede to the contact data from here.
You should contact to the GST in case of problems with the software or for problems during the installation or activation process. We will also be delighted to answer your questions about using the software.
In case of problems with the PC that prevent the printing of labels, you should:
  1. Deactivate the license you currently have activated.
  2. Install the Gesvatec labeling software on another PC.
  3. Activate the license on the new PC to continue printing the labels.
  4. Call to your IT department or your technical service to proceed to solve the problem on the PC.
  5. Once the PC has been repaired you can perform the above process again to activate the software on that PC.

Firstly, you have to access to the private part of this web site with your user and password and click on the “Intraweb” option from the main menu.
In case of problems with the printer that prevent the printing of labels, you should:
  1. Call to your IT department or your technical service to proceed to solve the problem with the label printer.
  2. You can make print tests using the test farm "Example Plot" from the Gesvatec labeling software in order to test the printing of the label printer.
  3. If you have a different label printer you could install its Windows driver on the PC and select it in the Gesvatec labeling software (option 'Printers management' from the main menu) to continue printing the labels until the problem is solved on the initial printer.

Firstly, you have to access to the private part of this web site with your user and password and click on the “Intraweb” option from the main menu.
In case of problems on the Gesvatec labeling software that prevents the printing of labels, you should:
  1. Send an email to the Gesvatec Support Team (GST) to soporte@gesvatec.com informing them about the problem you have with the software.
  2. For connecting to the Gesvatec Support Team (GST) to the PC (remotely) and solve the problem you must previously download from the download area of the Gesvatec Website the 'Remote Support' utility and install it on the PC.
  3. Follow the steps in section 7.2 of the 'Manual: Setup and activation (Labeling)' to give access to the Gesvatec Support Team (GST) to your PC.
The Gesvatec Support Team (GST) will solve any problem related to the Gesvatec software, or problems with the setup and activation process of the software. For the resolution of hardware failure or internet connection you should contact your IT department or its corresponding technical service.
Before using the Gesvatec labeling software, please, read the "Manual: Labeling" and "Manual: Web site" to know how to use the Gesvatec system. Both manuals are available in the download area of the Gesvatec Web Site (www.gesvatec.com).

Labels (only for packhouses)

Yes. The Gesvatec label is always associated with the consumption of a certain amount of kilos according to the packaging used and printed on the label. Each printed label indicates that it has been labeled a number of kilos from a legal plantation. Therefore, the label has two finalities: firstly, it identifies the protected product, and on the other, indicates the number of "legal" kilos that have been labeled by the packhouse.
The Gesvatec label should be sticked on each packaging which contains the protected product (box or pallet). To identify the kilos from a regularized / legal plantation of the protected product is not necessary to stick a label on each "package unit". It will be required just to stick the label on the box or pallet.
Of course. The Gesvatec label does not replace any of the labels you currently use for identifying a packaging. You can continue putting on the packaging the current traceability label, trademarks and so on.
